Isla el Gran Roque, with its wide expanse of beaches and crystal clear waters, is a true vacation paradise for its visitors. The island popularly known as ‘Venezuela’s Caribbean’ attracts a large number of tourists from all over the globe. Most of the streets on the island are made up of sand and it is not uncommon to see people walking barefoot on the island.
The beaches on the island provide its tourists a number of water sport and recreational options like swimming, diving, sailing and fishing. While most tourists prefer to spend the daytime enjoying the fresh, clear waters, a stroll along the beach at sunset is also quite spectacular.
The island, which is also a national park, is home to a large number of inns. While vacationing in Isla el Gran Roque be sure to visit some of the small restaurants or beach cafes to sample some of the delicious empanadas and the island’s exotic seafood.
