Guayana, a city in Bolívar, Venezuela, is a combination of San Felix, an old town, and Puerto Ordaz, a new town, that border the Caroní River, which unites with the Orinoco River, on each side. The two towns are linked by three bridges.
The average maximum day temperature ranges from 30°C to 35°C, with average minimum night temperature ranging between 20°C and 24°C. The best time to visit Guayana is between December and February. Rains are heavy from June to August; heat and humidity tend to rise and fall several times between March and November.
Guayana came into existence in 1961. Owing to the numerous advantages offered by its geographical position, Guayana has come to be recognised as an industrial hub.
Guayana’s population is estimated to have exceeded 750,000; it is currently the biggest city by Venezuelan standards.
