The city of Catia La Mar, with its large number of beaches and virgin locations, is an ideal place to relax and unwind. The city, which is located between two parishes, Catia the Sea and Raul Leoni, lies very close to the Maiquetia city. While vacationing in the city, be sure to visit the smaller towns and districts like Old Port, Atlantis, Paez, Ezequiel Zamora and the Soublette.
Some of the most popular beaches in the city include the Green Beach, Golden Coast, Beach Footlights and Old Port. These beaches remain isolated and have never been very popular or well maintained and are not visited by many tourists.
The city has a good communication network and is connected to Caracas by means of a freeway and Carayaca by means of a highway.
The city also hosts a wide range of events and festivals, the most popular one being the Carnival celebrations.
