The nation celebrates Labour Day on 1 May which is followed by Independence Day celebrations on 28 and 29 July. Día de Santa Rosa de Lima is celebrated on 30 August. Immaculate Conception is on 8 December.

The bullfighting season is held at Rimac, the oldest bullring in the United States.
