Rich in natural resources, Boa Vista acts a gateway for ecotourism to other destinations such as the Amazon, Venezuela and Guyana.
The main attractions of Boa Vista are its unique beaches on the river Branco. The Anauá Park draws several tourists with its natural lake and an aquatic park. Located on the park grounds is the Casa do Indio Museum, which displays artefacts of the Roraima Indians.
An important tourist point is the Monumento ao Garimpeiro, a monument paying tribute to gold panning, which put the economy into motion. The Prelature, seat of the State Government is a beautiful example of the Neo-classical style of architecture. The Igreja Matriz Nossa Senhora do Carmo, the first Church in the State, is also a must-see.
Those interested in sports could visit the city’s biggest stadium, Flamarion Vasconcelos or the Ayrton Senna, a sports complex. In order to relax, visit Orla Taumanan on the banks of river Branco for its bars and cafés.
