Tourist guide Gold Coast

Gold Coast is located at a distance of about 78 km from Brisbane. In the west, it falls on the foothills of the Great Dividing Range. With a population of 554,628, it has a subtropical climate with the mean daily maximum temperature rising up to 29°C and the minimum temperature falling to 9°C.

Established on 16 May 1959, Gold Coast ranks sixth among the most populated cities in Australia. The name ‘Gold Coast’ was coined by Brisbane journalists as it was one of the most sought after places for property dealings. The name was officially adopted in 1958. Historically, Gold Coast served as base for the Australian and American servicemen during the Second World War.

The tourism industry of Gold Coast is booming on account of the natural beauty, infrastructure, and a number of World Heritage Sites.
