Tourist guide Broome

Broome is one of the most beautiful tourist and pearling towns of Australia in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The residential population of the city is around 14,000 but this reaches 30,000 during the tourist season.

One of the popular landmarks of the city is Cable Beach where an underwater telecommunication cable to Singapore was laid. The pearling industry developed from the original harvesting of oysters for natural pearls to the present cultured pearl farming enterprise but many lost their lives in this venture.

Broome has a low latitude and a semi-arid climate. The city experiences a rainy season from December to March and a dry season from May to November.

The wet season has high humidity and erratic tropical downpours. Rain falls from January till March. Tropical cyclones and unpredictable summer weather with thunderstorms causes erratic rainfall. Frost does not occur here.
