Hollywood Walk of Fame
Rating:

Hollywood Walk of Fame is an area which consists of eighteen blocks which have been named after the present and past Stars of Hollywood in their honour.
This sidewalk was designed by Californian artist Oliver Weismuller in 1958 to give the place a better look.
In 1978 the Walk of Fame was nominated as a Historic Landmark.
The sidewalk is maintained by the Hollywood Historic Trust and people can get a star on this sidewalk by attending a presentation ceremony and paying a certain fee to the Trust for its maintenance.
The sponsors are generally record companies and movie studios interested in publicity or fan clubs associated with certain organisations.
There were a few stars which were stolen from the site by a contractor who was later caught, so now surveillance cameras are placed in the region to catch such thieves.
The Walk of Fame is a 31 and a half mile long walk with certain areas being permanent and the stars need to have certain awards to their credit such as Golden Globe awards or Emmy awards or Academy awards and more.
