Findlay is the seat of Hancock County in north-western Ohio, USA. The city is spread over an area of 44.8 sq km and has a population of around 45,000.
Findlay has a humid continental climate. Summers are hot and humid with an average high of 28°C. Winters are cold and are accompanied by snow with temperatures falling below freezing point.
The city is named after Colonel James Findlay who built Fort Findlay during the War of 1812.The community of Findlay grew around the fort leading to the establishment of the town. The town prospered after the discovery of oil and natural gas.
The inhabitants have maintained the city’s culture and tradition. The city has earned the designation of ‘Flag City USA’ because of its display of American flags outside every home on Flag Day. The Blanchard River and the adjoining Riverside Park offer some moments of peace and tranquillity to visitors.
