Bryce Canyon National Park is located in south-western Utah, USA. It is around 80 km north-east of Zion National Park and lies within the Colorado Plateau. Bryce Canyon was made a national park in 1928.

The park lies at an elevation of 2400 to 2700 m, which means it has predominantly sunny weather. Summer days see temperatures of around 27°C with afternoon thundershowers, while winters have sunny days and chilly nights.

Bryce Canyon’s terrain is more of a huge amphitheatre formed as a result of erosion. It spans along the eastern edges of the Paunsagunt Plateau and (owing to its higher altitude) has a much more contrasting ecology than the nearby Grand Canyon and Zion National Park.

The region also provides a habitat for diverse species of fauna, ranging from the commonly found mule deer to herds of the pronghorn antelope.
