| Attractions and things to do |
The Joshua Tree National Park has marvellous scenic beauty, with its hills covered with pretty wildflower blooms. It is a good idea to start the trip by getting all the required information from the visitor centre. The centre also has a museum and a bookstore selling collectibles, brochures, books and pamphlets. The Barker Dam is a great place to view wildlife. This recreational area has 12 wonderful nature trails; some of these are the Cottonwood Spring, the Indian Cove, Keys View and the Skull Rock. The California Riding and Hiking Trail and the Boy Scout Hiking and Equestrian Trail are the two best routes for hiking in this national park. There are a lot of other outdoor activities like mountain biking, rock climbing and camping which the tourists can enjoy.
