Monterrey is the capital of the Mexican state Nuevo Leon. Also known as the ‘City of the Mountains’, Monterrey is an urban industrial and business centre. It is the third most populated city in Mexico with the metropolitan area housing over three million inhabitants, who are considered the most educated in Mexico.
Monterrey’s climate is overall pleasant with moderately cool winters and a cheerful spring and autumn. However, it tends to get hot in summers. With minimal rainfall, snowfall is an equally rare event.
Originally, Monterrey was a small city with a few hundred residents. However, after the Mexican Independence War, it developed into an important economic an industrial centre. Today, it is known as one of the best cities in the world for business.
