Ensenada, also known as the Cinderella of the Pacific, is the third largest city in the state of Baja California Sur, Mexico. It is located about 120 km south of the US Border and makes a perfect weekend getaway for tourists. The city is also a cruise port, with at least four cruise ships arriving weekly from Los Angeles.
Ensenada is located in the Pacific inlet of Bahia de Todos Santos and is close to the San Pedo Martir Mountains (about 240 km south-west).
The mild, year-round Mediterranean climate makes it an ideal holiday destination, though the region does experience conditions of drought due to the short rainy season.
Ensenada has a population of more than 250,000 people. It is a significant commercial and fishing port, with tourism, agriculture and wine-making as well as a military base driving the economy.
