Puebla, Mexico has an area of 33,902 sq km and a population of about 5,383,100. Its capital is Puebla City.

Puebla is bounded by the Mexican states of Veracruz, Hidalgo, México, Tlaxcala, Morelos, Guerrero and Oaxaca.  The topography is typified by plateaus, mountain ranges and valleys.

The population includes Mestizos (mixed indigenous and foreign ancestry) as well as various Indian tribes such as Náhua, Otomí and Mazatecs. The region was also a Spanish colony, leaving it with a rich heritage.
