The city of San Sebastián, officially known as Donostia-San Sebastián, is the capital city of the province of Guipuscoa in Spain. It is located in the Basque Country on the southern coast of the Bay of Biscay.
This resort city is beautifully enveloped by green mountains on one side and the picturesque beaches along the Bay of Biscay on the other. San Sebastián has a pleasant and mild climate throughout the year. The average temperature in the summer months is 21°C, and in winters, it drops to about 9°C. Frequent rain showers are experienced in autumn and spring.
San Sebastián has a population of approximately 180,000 people. The official languages are Euskadi and Castilian Spanish. It is also the summer capital of the Spanish royal family, and the culture is a fine example of the unique traditions of its Basque populace.
