Tourist guide Gdynia

Gdynia is a modern maritime city situated on the sandy shores of the Baltic Sea in north Poland; located in the Gdansk Bay, the Kacza River flows through its southern areas. Gdynia is the biggest port on the Baltic and is often regarded as the most prosperous city in Poland.

Gdynia can be accessed by air through the International Leck Walesa Airport at Gdansk. The Tri-city Railway also plies between Gdynia, Gdansk and Sopot.

The climate here is temperate, with a maximum temperature of nearly 23°C in summer and a minimum of –2°C in the cold, wet winters. Summer thundershowers are frequent.  November–February is an ideal time to visit.

The city has an estimated 250,000 people. Apart from being a major seaport and a ship-building area, it is an important rail centre and a food-processing region.
