Curaçao has a calendar full of festivities that delight local residents as well as visitors. Major holidays, such as Carnival and Christmas, spread a vibrant festive atmosphere over the entire island.
The Curaçao Carnival is the biggest highlight in the calendar of the islands. Commencing in January and ending in late February or March, this event brings the island to life with its masquerade parties and marches.
The natives are proud of their culture and tradition and use every opportunity to celebrate them. Banda Bou Day is celebrated by inhabitants of the Banda Bou region with lots of activities, music, folkloric shows and vendors selling food, drinks and traditional wares.
The Queen’s Birthday on 30 April and Easter Monday are other popular events celebrated with full enthusiasm.
