Porto Cervo is located in northern Sardinia, an island off the western coast of Italy. This resort village lies along the Costa Smeralda, a coast dotted with village resorts that are planned especially to serve as holiday spots; Porto Cervo is one of the most popular ones among them.
The region enjoys a Mediterranean climate; it is warm throughout the year. Summers are long and dry with temperatures in July and August averaging above 25°C. Winters are pleasant with temperatures during the day averaging at 14°C.
Porto Cervo is not a town rich in history or architecture. It is purely a luxury resort made up of a harbour and marinas; the town is dotted with colourful holiday villas and is nestled in the hilly terrain.
