The Sinopia is the principle sketch of wath later became the fresco, designed either by the Master or by one of the students of that particulary talented study.
Designed in fresco with dark ochre or reddish-coloured earth,it takes its name from the city of Sinope in Turkey.Among the foundations of the most significant frescoes are the Triumph of death, universal Judgement,Histories of Anchorite an Crucifixion by Francesco di Traino. Of great importance are the bronze Griffon and the Basin,of Islamic origins(Fatimid);a crucifix from Burgundy; and the works of Tino da Camiano including his sculptures originally from the tomb-altar of San Ranieri and the portrait of Henry VII of Luxembourg with his Counsellors.

    SAN SISTO
Tradition claims that the Church was founded on 6 August 1070 ”Lo die San Sisto”, the day that the Pisan navy claimed extraordinary victories, but also the inauspicious day of the defeat of the Meloria in 1284.
The stone church has a medieval architectural design, with two aisles and a central nave, and granite columns with reemployed capitals from the classic age.
In this church of the People were held and in that era it was considered one of the most important churches of the city.

    SAN ZENO
The abbey of San Zeno is characterised by a stratigraphical collection of architectural styles and ornaments, as can easily be seen by the façade itself. It has very ancient origins and is located in a place in older times called ”to the caves”, due to large number of ancient Roman and Pisanum ruins.
The Benedictine Abbey was later passed on the Camaldolite Order at the beginning of the 15th century and underwent radical transformations.
