Espoo is situated in the Helsinki region in southern Finland. It has come a long way from a miniscule rural town in the early twentieth century to a bustling city of approximately 230,000 inhabitants.

Summer is the best time to visit. July is the warmest month with the average temperature being 19°C. Winter is severe and long. The coldest month is March when temperatures drop five degrees below freezing point.
