Horns Rev is a museum housed in a ship which lies anchored off the Esbjerg harbour. It has been preserved to give a picture of the way of life on board a ship. The water tower, Esbjerg Vandtårn was built in the 1800s in the medieval style to give the city an old look.
Rock and jazz concerts are held at the Multihus Tobaksfabrikken all year. Esbjerg has a 9-day musical festival in August every year. The main shows of the festival are performed at the Torvet Square, the city’s main square. The Esbjerg Art Museum displays works of renowned contemporary artists.
The Esbjerg Museum has the largest collection of processed and natural amber. It also has a collection of exhibits about life in the Viking times.
Esbjerg is a fairly new city, and thus, it does not have much of historic significance and Old World charm, but it is an ideal spot to discover South Jutland. Ribe the oldest town of Denmark is just 30 km away.
