Nestled in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic is the small town of Třeboň which was established in the middle of the 12th Century. During the late 15th century, this town became famous in the region as a fish pond farming area.
The population of around 8800 is mostly engaged in agriculture and the spa industry. Třeboň has also become a major tourist destination in the Czech Republic.
Surrounded by a large forest cover and lots of lakes, Třeboň enjoys a lovely mild climate with lots of sunshine.
The development of the town has been credited mainly to the House of Rožmberk and in particular, Petr IV, who during the latter part of the 15th century took interest in the development of the town and the lands.
