Cypriot cuisine bears a certain likeness to Greek food, evident in the olives and lemons used in cooking. Sample the Loukanika (smoked sausages in coriander and red wine), Stiphado (beef or rabbit stew with wine, onions and spices), Galatopoureko (cream-stuffed pastry), and the Halloumi (a unique cheese made from cow’s and sheep’s milk).
The famous Commandaria wine (a Cypriot speciality) and the Zivania (a favourite alcoholic beverage) are the popular beverages.
