Haiphong is a city located on the edge of the Red River in Vietnam. Also known as the ‘city of flame flowers’, it is a beautiful city and a major industrial and commercial hub. Home to a populace of about 1,600,000 people, Haiphong is the third most populated city in Vietnam.
The climate of Haiphong is of the tropical monsoon variety with all the four seasons. Summers are hot and humid, while winters are cool and dry. However, short showers can be expected in winters. The area receives heavy rainfall from May to September.
The city has been commercially active since ancient times. Even today, it has a promising economy with fishery, agriculture, tourism, ship building, textiles and chemicals as its main industries.
