The city contains numerous ‘souqs’ or markets for various types of shopping.
Notable among these is The "Blue Souq" which has 2 wings and hosts around 600 shops in total. The ground floor mainly deals with gold and designer wears while the upper floor shops sell carpets and other curiosities brought from diverse regions.
One of the oldest souq in the country stands in the form of ‘Souq al-Arash’ which is worth a visit. Sharjah Fort Museum is located at the Heritage District of Sharjah city.
It showcases the history of the Emirate. Islamic Museum located in the same district is a perfect spot for anyone who wishes to study Islamic culture and heritage at their undefiled and sacred place. I
t contains handwritten Qur’ans, letters written by the Prophet to other leaders and numerous artifacts from the holy place of Mecca. Khalid Lagoon is well-known for Jet skiing.
