Nakhon Ratchasima has some of the finest Khymer ruins in Thailand, which can be seen next to the Mon and Lao sites. The Prasat Hin Phanom Wan and Prang Ban Ku are some of the ruins located just outside the city.
From the Thao Suranaree statue, which marks the centre of the city, you can visit the Maha Viravong National Museum (hosting a varied collection of old sandstone and bronze Buddha images, ceramics, ancient monastery wood carvings and other artefacts).
The Wat Sala Loi on the banks of the Lam Takhong River has a chapel shaped in the form of a Chinese sailing vessel. The most sacred object of the city is the Narayana statue, which is kept in the Wat Phra Narai Maharat.
Relax at the beautiful Khao Yai National Park or visit the Village Farm Winery located just outside the Park. You can get a famous Thai massage at one of the many street parlours or buy quality silk products and clay pottery as souvenirs of your stay.
