Khao Lak lies right opposite the Similan Islands which is Thailand’s popular diving destination. Khaolak-Lam Roo National Park is another popular tourist destination for all the nature enthusiasts. The park is home to a number of streams and waterfalls such as Saeng Thong, Lam Roo and Chong Fa.
Takuapa, a small Thai town, is home to some of the ancient wooden Chinese shop-houses. Khoa Lak houses a number of beaches that provide swimming, diving and snorkelling opportunities.
Some of the most popular beaches are Nong Thong, Bang Niang and Khuk Khuk.
While vacationing in Khoa Lak, be sure to take a boat cruise through the Phang Nga Bay to view its famous limestone rock formations and a unique sea gypsy village.
Khao Lak is also home to a number of restaurants and beach-stalls serving authentic Thai food. Western dishes are also available in certain restaurants.
