Thai cuisine revolves around rice. Some of the local favourites include Kaeng Som, a sweet and sour soup dish; Nam Prik, a chilli sauce, served as a dip with vegetables; Rad Na, rice noodles served in gravy along with beef, pork, chicken or seafood; and Larb, a sour meat salad. The local desserts are a treat too. Try the Kao Niao Ma Muang or dig into some Gluay Buad Chee.
For the more adventurous, try the exotic foods like raw beef, deep fried insect larvae or a giant water bug.
