Singapore : Health and Safety

Singapore has excellent healthcare facilities across the country. However, these services tend to be on the expensive side; it is necessary to have medical insurance while travelling here. A yellow fever certificate is necessary for those travelling from an infected area. There is a high risk of contracting dengue fever in the region; get appropriate vaccinations and medications for the same before visiting Singapore. If you are carrying any medication, make sure you carry it in its original packaging and with prescriptions.

Also be sure to carry plenty of sun block, as it tends to get fairly warm and drink lots of water to avoid heat exhaustion and dehydration.

Singapore is a very safe country, with little crime. However you need to be careful of local laws, which are very strict. Expect hefty fines and possible imprisonment if you are caught chewing gum, smoking in public places, littering and jay walking.
