Umm Salal Mohamed is a small town located 25 km north of Doha, Qatar. It is situated in Umm Salal, one of Qatar’s nine municipalities, and serves as its capital. It lies in the centre of Qatar and is distinctive from the rest of the urban developments.

The topography of this region is primarily flat with barren desert land; however, some fertile basins can be found in the north and central regions of Qatar. Umm Salal Mohammed is typified by an arid desert climate with hot, dry summers and mild, pleasant winters; it is drier in this region than in any other part of the country.

While the population of Umm Salal Mohammed is undefined, the entire municipality of Umm Salal is home to 32,000 people. In comparison with Doha, this town is relatively poor, reflecting the difference between interior settlements and those on the coastline.
