Dumaguete is the capital of the province of Negros Oriental in Philippines. Also referred to as ‘The City of Gentle People’, Dumaguete is home to a population of more than 100,000 inhabitants. It is a popular tourist spot, owing to its beach resorts, diving sites and much more.
Dumaguete has a moderate climate with two main seasons, namely, dry and wet. The wet season extends through the months of June to November, while December to May is the dry season. Both summers and winters have mild temperatures.
Constituted in 1898, today, Dumaguete has an active economy with significant business process outsourcing firms. The tourism industry is also growing rapidly.
