Ubud, one of the most popular tourist centres of Bali, is a haven for its visitors. The Puri Lukisan and the Neka Museum are home to some of the best Balinese paintings collection. Ubud’s Basakih Temple, also known as the Mother Temple, is a famous Hindu site. The temple compound that houses almost 22 multi-tiered temples is of great significance to Balinese culture.
The Monkey Forest and the Elephant Safari Park are equally popular with the village of Petulu, situated close to Ubud and being home to thousands of beautiful, white herons. Ubud is also home to a number of bathing pools and carved statues.
The Yeh Palu, a carved stone monument, is another beautiful site. The Ubud Festival, the city’s annual event is one of the most popular events.
The Ubud market, located in the central area of the village, is a must-visit. The market has a mix of traditional produce and a number of modern items including fashion items and artworks.
