Vadodara, also called as Baroda, is located in Gujarat state.
This city has flourished on the banks of the River Vishwamitri. In summer, the River Vishwamitri often dries up with a small or no stream of water. It is the 18th largest city in India.
Vadodara is located between the fertile plateau of Narmada and Mahi rivers. The climate is dry throughout the year except the monsoon season. From March to July, the maximum temperature is 36 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is 23 degrees Celsius. From November to February, the maximum temperature is 30 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is 15 degrees Celsius. In January, there are cold northerly winds. From mid-June to mid-September, there is a humid climate due to the south-west monsoon.
As per the 2005 census, the population of Vadodara is 1.6 million.
Vododara is called as “Sanskari Nagari”, which means a Cultured City. It is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in India.
Due to the broad vision of the Gaekwads, the proliferation of academic activities and the subsequent industrialiasation, this city has welcomed people from all parts of the world.
