Diu offers several
places to visit. Among the main attractions in Diu, tourists should not miss the
Gangeshwar Temple.
The Gangeshwar Temple is located in the Fudam village which is three km away from Diu. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Along the shore, there are five lingas (symbol of Lord Shiva) placed amongst mid-sized boulders. Thus, these are continuously rinsed by the waves of the sea.
St. Thomas Church cum Museum is another top-sport in Diu. The local authorities have changed the St. Thomas Church into the Diu Museum.
In 1598, a beautiful edifice was built here. This was based on gothic architecture. The church comprises of shadow clocks, idols, statues, wooden carvings and other prominent relics.
Diu Fort is a magnificent view of the sea from the Diu Fort. It is thought that this fort was built around 1535 and 1541 AD.
The stone masonry of this fort is simply matchless.
