Andhra Pradesh known as the ‘rice bowl of India’ is the largest and most populated state of southern India. It is said to have been the home of the pre Dravidian dark coloured inhabitants.
Formerly this terrain was furthermore acknowledged as, Andhra Desa, Andhra-avani, Andhra-vishaya, Andhrapatha and Andhra-mandalamu. The chivalric city of Hyderabad is its capital.
Telugu, one of the third largest spoken languages in India is the regional and official language of this state. Other languages widely spoken here are English, Urdu and Hindi.
The Godavari and Krishna, two of the main rivers of India, flow through this state thereby making agriculture its chief source of income.
The Nagarjuna Sagar Dam, a multi state irrigation project in development is the world’s highest masonry dam.
With a coast line of 1000km, some of the best beaches are located in this state.
