Because of its open to foreigners and its position on the coast, Shanghai is provided with rich tourist attractions connected to its long and complicated history.

There are many well preserved buildings, built in various foreign styles and western tourists feel nearly at home going through the long street in the Bund area because of its resemblances to European cities. The mixture of western and eastern styles has given the Bund a reputation as a “world’s fair of architecture”.

In the old part of Shanghai you will still find many buildings of the 1920s and 30s. Close to the Old City there is the Yuyuan Garden, which is worth to be visited.
The Jade Buddha Temple, situated in northwest of Shanghai is the most admired Buddhist temple in the city, there are two jade Buddha statues, one is reclining and the other is seating.

Dili is the capital of East Timor lying on the northern coast of Timor on Ombai Strait.
It is the biggest city with a population of about 49,900 people. It is as well chief port and commercial centre of East Timor. Also the university of East Timor is located in Dili.

During the World War II Dili was occupied by the Japanese from February 1942 until the end of the war.
A great part of the city was hardly destroyed in the aggression following 1999 vote for East Timorese independence.
