Entebbe is a city in Uganda. It is located on the shore of Lake Victoria and has a population of approximately 90,500 inhabitants.
The city has a tropical climate all year round, with temperatures ranging from 15C-29C.
Entebbe in the local Luganda language means “seat”. It derives its name from the time when it served as the judicial seat for Baganda chief. In 1893, the city fell under the British rule and served as an administrative and commercial centre.
Entebbe was the administrative capital of Uganda until just after independence in 1962 when the Capital was moved to Kampala.
