Hammamet is a city in Tunisia. The city of Hammamet is located near Tunis (only 60 Km) and in the souht east of Cap Bon. Hammamet is in the Nabeul district.
Today Hammamet, with a population of about 50,000 is a charming, busy fishing harbour and a popular tourist resort. The city is known for jasmine.
It is the cultural centre of the area and mixes a rich historical past with his traditions (berber tradition) a lively present.
Due to the oriental aspects, like sea and Kasbah (traditional fortress and cities with mosque, “hammam”, “suq”and ovens), Hammamet is a major tourist in the province of centre and north of Tunisia.
