Ghomrassen is a small town located in southern Tunisia. Surrounded by mountains and home to a Star Wars movie relic, this is a quaint settlement symbolic of the Berber way of life. Ghomrassen is 20 km from the city of Tataouine and 40 km from Medenine.
With a population of approximately 15,000, Ghomrassen is characterised by a Saharan climate like the rest of southern Tunisia and experiences dry summers with high inland temperatures. There is minimal rainfall, although showers can be occasionally heavy in spring and autumn. The sun shines for almost seven to eight hours in a day in winter; in summers, there’s about 12 hours of sunshine daily.
