Tourist guide Cape Bon

Cape Bon is the name given to the peninsular region in north-eastern part of Tunisia. The two main towns on the peninsula are home to almost 100,000 inhabitants while small pockets of communities are also found scattered across the region. The peninsula has a mountainous terrain interspersed with numerous fertile plains.

Cape Bon enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate with an adequate quantity of rainfall. The temperatures are not extreme either during winter or summer, making it hospitable for visitors almost all year round.

Cape Bon played a pivotal role in World War II. In 1941, the Allied forces sunk two Italian cruisers off the coast of the Cape. It was also the last region of North Africa to bid adieu to the German troops when they surrendered to the Allies.
