Although there are few hotels and restaurants compared to other resorts, Bizerte still has plenty to offer its tourists. Lake Ichkeul, designated as one of only two wetland heritage sites by the UNESCO, is unusual because its water is partly fresh and partly salty. As for the beaches, the Raf Raf beach is considered one of the best beaches in Tunisia.
Along the coast road, called Route de la Corniche, one can find exotic beaches and old European buildings. The seventeenth century Great Mosque, showcasing Bizerte’s Turkish influences, is also worth visiting. No trip to the town is complete without a visit to Cap Blanc, the northernmost tip of Africa, with hanging cliffs and clear blue water excellent for divers.
Bizerte has an active night life in the summertime, with live performances. A popular ocean-facing restaurant in town is Le Petit Mousse, offering delicious sea food.
