Tourist guide Port Harcourt

Port Harcourt, or the Garden City as it is popularly known, is the capital of Rivers in western Nigeria. It lies along the Bonny River and is an important national trade port. Port Harcourt is well connected with an international airport and is less than an hour from the Nigerian capital city of Lagos. There is also a well-developed system of roadways and bridges.

Average temperatures in Port Harcourt range from 23°C–33°C. It is cooler between the months of November and March but dustier owing to the presence of dust-carrying winds called Harmatton. Rainfall is exceptionally heavy in June.

The residents of this port city number about 245,000. Today, Port Harcourt is the capital of Nigeria’s blooming oil industry.
