If you happen to visit on a Wednesday, make sure you go to the Wednesday Souk and try out the different varieties of dates for sale. During the year, the city has exciting festivals that draw many tourists, such as the Moussem of Moulay Abdelkader Jilali, which is a special festival to commemorate a Sufi saint, and the Fete du Trone, which is a national festival of Morocco that takes place here and is equally entertaining.

Zagora has a decent number of hotels. Tourists are recommended to stay at La Fibule Du Draa, which is a local family-owned hotel allowing guests to experience their stay in a true Moroccan fashion.

About 25 km south of the city, one can come across Tinfou, popularly known as the golden sand dunes whose colour keeps changing with the light. Ideal times to visit the dunes are at dawn or at dusk.
