Al Hoceima does not boast of any historical sites of note as it is a very young town which has developed only in the last century. It is a place for fun and sun on the beach and the warm blue waters of the Mediterranean. The town is packed with visitors during summer, and thus, September to April might be a good time to visit as the weather is pleasant even then. Facilities for scuba diving, snorkelling and other beach and water sports are available here.
The old town square and the site of the original houses is the Place de Rif. Besides the College Espagnol, it is now crowded with restaurants, cafes, etc. The main beach of Al Hoceima is known as Plage Quemado. The hill slopes are covered with olive orchards which are a popular spot for strolls and walks. Place Massira offers great views of the beautiful surrounds.
The Festival of the Sea Harvest is celebrated on the beaches of Al Hoceima every year in July.
