Madagascar celebrates Independence Day on 26 June. Another interesting event is the Santabary Festival held in April/May to celebrate the rice harvest. In May, the Donia Music Festival takes place in Nossi Bé, and in December, Antananarivo hosts the Gasytsara Modern Music Festival.
The months between April and October offer a lot to wildlife lovers. This is the season for indulging in Whale Watching, catching the Dancing Lemurs at Berenty Reserve, and watching the Chameleons in a Trance at the Parc National de Montagne d’Ambre.
